brakes dragging

my front brakes are dragging - like they are just short of fully releasing.

I pulled them off and compressed them with a C-clamp, but once i reinstalled them- they started dragging again. they will spin, but it takes a bit more effort than if they were fully released...

Is there a fix, or do I need to rebuild the calipers?

Calipers or MC may need to be rebuilt. Kits are on Ebay for both.

x's 2 on that. or it could be as simple as taking them apart and doing a good cleaning and re-assembling.

Most of the time when a caliper is not acting right I have found that the slides that it is mounted on are froze up. They are supposed to "float" on those slides and you just need to get in there and grease it good and make sure the boots are not ripped.
