finally someone goes to true hi-compression. not corrected compression ratios. you will love the 12.5:1. you will be able to pull a gear or two high easily and reduce the amount of shifting necessary to navigate rolling and hilly terrain.

i have the 12.5:1 with shaved head and cyl. decked .025 that should give me clost to 13.1 im running a stage 2 hot cam but going to stage 3 to see how much more i can get out of it.

Why did you wrap the header? Just curious.

And also, where did you get the cooler, and (if you don't mind) for how much?

I wrapped it because its an air cooled engine, and a really hot header right next to the block and oil tank cant help keep the engine cool... so no more problem... The oil cooler is an 11" x 7.5" I got from Auto zone with hose and clamps and all that stuff for 60 bucks....

I see.

Did you have any issues mounting it? Also, do you forsee any problems with the oil pump due to its larger size?

Nope, mounted it to the stock location, just had to make lil tabs, then cut the old lines, and flair them a lil..... And i dont think there will be a problem, tons of people run aftermarket coolers and oil tank with no problem......

Cool, have you put oil into it yet? Wonder how much extra it is going to take. Based on the size of it, I would think you could mount 2 SPAL fans on it.

Not sure, i would say an extra half quart give or take.... And yeah, there's plenty of room for 2 fans, but i dont think i need 2????

Sounds good, I'm going to do something similar on mine soon, I think.

You might not need 2, but I have a 440 that is constantly overheating. So I might try it.
