What do I need to do to get our 90 polaris to fully engage off the line. My son drag races, its got a hetrick pipe- no rev cdi- 30 tooth rear sprocket- 1500 torsion spring- 5 gram rollers - and I believe I got the 2000 clutch shoe springs in right now. It takes about 6 to 10 feet before it comes to life. Its screaming on top end but we are losing a few races off the line. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you

You might want to try a little lighter roller.

Thanks for the info. I talked with A person locally he said possibly a 1000 rpm torsion spring. would that help as well ? I am not sure.

Thanks again

I personally think that will make it worse. It will allow the rollers to come out faster and shift into high gear faster. look for a post i did on clutch help

ill get a link in a min

I'm NO EXPERT!!!!! I'm learning as we go and trying to understand the way these work. I have tried the koso 1500 black koso 1000 white mallosi red and have a ztr 1500 on order that should be here tomorrow. Thats just the torque sprrings. I have tried the stock yamizooto small springs the koso 1500 and koso 2000 for the small springs. the stock yam springs seem to be the stiffest and offer the highest stall so far. I do have a lightened clutch pack in the rear that I got from hetrick. For the rollers I have all the koso rollers from 3.5 to 5.5 in .25gram increments. I'm also running a hetrick race cut front yamizooto variator. I have a mild port job by holt and one of his pipes on it. Right now I'm at 4.25 rollers yam springs on the shoes and the red mallosi and It dose ok. I'm still running the 780 belt. I have a 787 belt coming with the other spring and will see how that does this weekend. I'm still having an issue that the belt is starting up the front variator about 1/2" before the rear shoes lock up. This is like the bike taking off in 2nd gear instead of first. I think this is what yours might be doing also. I'm only going to change the belt and see how he does in the practice runs sat and go from there.

Were you in front royal for the races last weekend. If you were we were the yellow eton there on snow hogs.

No ,we race in wv and ohio mainly.

Thanks for the info. I forgot to mention all my parts are from hetrick and I have lightened the clutch shoes up by drilling them as hetrick instructed me too-3/16 and 5/16 bit used.
