i have glanced at some picts of the 450 frame and it looks close to the 400. it realy looks like an updated 400 frame what did they change or is it a totaly diffrient frame. the product that made me realy ask is houser's new nerf bar. it is not yet avalible for the 400ex and i was thinking i wonder just how close the 400 and 450 frames are related. so i could put the 450 kit on my 400 lol

Yeah man they will fit. I have a 99 426. Everything is the same from the 450r except the front mount tube holes. Just have to drill 2 new ones. They are a great nerf. I got the black silvervein powder. Looks badass with my new plastic...maier carbon fiber. I can post pics maybe tonight if you want to see them mounted.

Yea they are on the expensive side of the spectrum. Thst said...you get your moneys worth. I had blingstar full nrrfs with heelgaurds before these. Comparitively...the blings are garbage. They rattle and rub the hell out of the rear plastic. Even adding 6 bolts a side with nylon locknuts did nothing. The housers bolt solid at every tube end and do not budge. The housers are 515$ the blings 450. The color i added was 50$. Otherwise would have been the same price. The money is in the pegs. You notice getting on another quad without them. With those nerfs, the antivibe stem and odi grips..i hsrdly feel anything while riding. Email Jen Haley at houser racing if you want more info on them. Like i said its only a matter of drilling 2 holes on the 450 set.

In all honesty the tusk nerfs are the best built and cheapest nerfs you can find. Many runt hem (including me) and cant kill them.

Your only paying for a name with houser.

yea XC width. I dont plan on going wider ever. I think my right balljoint is on it's last leg, when it goes i'll prolly get the houser arms too and grab some 450r shocks off ebay...kinda hoping it breaks so i can justify it.

Do the houser's mount to the subframe?

No they dont mount to the subframe. 2 peg bolts and the front mount tube runs behind the bottom tab of the oil cooler. 4 bolts each side on the nerf itself, at the end of every tube end.

Do you know if the mx one's mount the same? It looks like houser has changed the design a little bit from when they first came out with them. With no subframe mounts they should be pretty easy to put on any quad that they don't make them for. I put some rath 44 series nerfs on my 250R and struggled mostly with the heel guard mounts.

Don't know if the MX mount differently. Nerfs as far as i know, are required to race, so they may mount to the subframe for more protection from another quad landing on them or anything else that can happen on a track. The price is the same on both versions so i'd guess they all include the same hardware. As far as the nerfs changing, yea i think i've seen other ones where the outside tube that runs with the wheelbase is straight. Mine are curved to "rotate" around trees, MX version could differ that way.
