... not for me anyway.

We FINALLY got to go camping. YEA !!!
We went out to the dry lakebed for the weekend, and the main goal was to try to teach my son Nickolas, how to ride his quad.

I was just hoping for him to not be intimidated by it.
To at least TRY to ride it.
I had set a hopeful goal, of taking a few laps, with me sitting the the back, to get him used to the idea... (and just praying that he might actually try to ride it solo).
Just one lap would have been FINE with me.

Well I am happy to report that, NICKOLAS ROCKS !!!

He took to it like a real champion, and BLEW Me, and my Wife AWAY !!!. I am stunned that he did so well, and he tuned into it so well.
We went SO FAR beyond my wildest hopes for the weekend, that I litterly can not begin to describe how I feel.
I am absoultely the Proudest Dad on the Planet today.

Nickolas is my new little HERO (again)! This weekend was leaps and bounds beyond what I was hoping for.

I'm fairly confident that we are looking at the next National Champion. I guess I'm going to have to start lobbying the Special Olympics comittee to include Offroad Motorsports too LOL !!!

Hope you all Enjoy,..

And in this one, he's getting a little cocky, and "rams" my wife, because he thinks she is going too slow. So he decides to take the lead, and show the girls how it's done !!!
LOL ! You GO little Buddy !!!

LMAO !
Well, I guess you guys are right !

Nickolas was about 150 yds away when I took that pic.
I wasn't even looking at the mutts, and had the digital zoom cranked all the way up, (as is evidence by the grainy pic).

It was really windy, and I was just trying to keep him in the view finder when I snapped the pic.

It just figures though,..
I try to share a HUGELY cool moment in my boys life and development,....
and the damn dog gets the most recognition for taking a dump !

Oh Well...
guess I'll have to go out and shoot the dog.

But either way,
We are EXTREMELY Proud of Nickolas, and his new accomplishments with learning to ride his little quad.
This will greatly assist in his developmental process', as well as give him a sence of accomplishment, and confidence. All GOOD things!
as well it will end up helping him to better concentrate, and focus on the task at hand. this will likely help to improve his skills all around, and teach him pride in a job well done.
We still have alot of work to do, and more things to learn,.....(like what those 2 levers in front of the hand grips are for,... LOL!)

But with Time, Patience, Practice, and Perseverence, He WILL Prevail !

Now I've just got to start working on the Special Olympics Committee's, to start including some motorsports ! Hahaha !

I can see it now,...
A bunch of special needs kids, doing a GNCC/XC race through the open desert. YEAH !!!

Hey, a Dad can dream, can't he ???

Ron ... did you ever install the wireless kill switch? I'm sure I read it somewhere that you did , but my mind is slipping.

For this past trip, I had hooked up a Pro Armor tether kill switch to the rear grab bar, and attached a 30' rope to it.

This way, if he was heading for trouble, I could just run over the rope with my quad and shut his down.
It works very well, but I do still intend to install a remote kill switch, and put a controller on both my Wifes, and My handlebars.
