Those of you who got refunds, have you received your federal checks? I filed late march/1st of april, i realize its only been 5 weeks, but my parents and a few other people I know who filed after I did have already received theirs. I bought a house, and I heard that is a red flag for the IRS this year filing for the credit, so I dunno, just looking to get an idea.

Filed, Apil 1st.

Received check, ?

I got mine back in about 2 weeks. But I also had it directly deposited into my account and haven't bought a home.

did you mail it in or file electronicly. If you mailed it in it will take about 8 weeks.

if you filed electronicly it should only take a couple weeks.

If you claim the credit, you cannot file electronically. My parents send theirs in old school and it still didn't take very long, but ok.

Yes, if you applied for the house credit your return will be delayed. I had my federal refund within a few days and my state within 2 weeks.

I filed electronically on April 14 and had direct deposit and got it in two weeks.

Talk to your employer, change your W4 to have some extra withholdings. It is fiscally, a terrible idea. All of us who are getting a returns essentially gave the government an interest free loan for a year, but it sure is nice getting that check each spring....errr summer for me

Ya, about that whole employer thing... I'm legally self employed, and file my own. Well, my CPA does. He tells me what to pay in every quarter, so I do, but when I bust my *** and work more/paid more, the gov. makes sure to take out that chunk every april. It's like punishment for hard work, no way to get ahead.

Oh, self employed. Yeah, you do get screwed. 15.3% Fica, state, local, fed, etc. If your business makes money at all, you basically keep half, maybe.

Two words of advice, think about a "cash discount" :D

Got ours back in a few days. Rapid kicks arse. But yes, there IS a red flag once you bought a home. The government isn't paying the alloted mount to ANYONE!!! So don't think your getting that. Obama screwed America over...

Several of my friends have gotten the 8000, but not all. They neglected to tell everyone, (up to 8000) But most have gotten it, so I wouldn't worry.

Oh, obviously. Its 10% of the purchases price, up to 8000. If you buy a **** house for 9,000 do you really think the government should pay 8 of it? (and for the record, I don't think they should pay anything, but their program did work...I bought one...)

So if you buy a house for $56,000.00 You get $5600. Hopefully that is what trxman is talking about.
