For everyone who sold your 400ex to replace with another quad

thought this might be a cool thread to start up. if you sold your 400ex to replace it with another machine(bike or quad), what did you get? post pics!

i bought the kx125 before i let the quad go, then blew it up and sold the quad so i could have the money to do the engine. just sold this and picked up an '09 ktm450xc

and photobucket isnt working, so i'll have to upload pics another time :scary:

I think people would rather read questions and tips and technical stuff about the quad that they still have, not the one they already sold....

Sold my 2000 400ex and bought a 2000 cr250
But still have my 02 426ex thats still not done haha
Thats b4 i polished the frame, but any way heres the mods

New wesico top end
V force reeds and cage
Full Race tech suspension
Black rims
Black acrebis (cant spell) plastic
Pro taper bars /grips /triple clamps
One industries graphics and griper seat cover
And full PC pipe but has dent

sold my 1999 400ex on yesterday for $2000, took that money and put it towards a 2007 Raptor 700 SE ($3000) what a deal!

I traded my 400 for a 88 250R. It was the best trade i ever done.

Yea the quad is spotless, still has stock tires on it... its been in a garage for the past 2 years.

traded my 400ex for a 450r. 400ex was set up for xc racing and I raced it for a few years in C class. I needed to step up to a better bike for B class. I had motor work done to the 400ex but they just can't compete with the 450s they just have so much more corner to corner acceleration than the 400s no matter what you do to them.

i agree. I wanted a 250r, but they just are not a bike you can race every weekend anymore. You need something you can get parts for easy and that isn't over 20 years old.

i got rid of my 400 for my old truck and to mod my old pitbike. i have none of these now. got rid of everything for my powerstroke

i never thaught i would sell the 400... but when i got the deal of a lifetime on a 07 ltr450 i jumped on it.

this is just a pic of one stock, its got a blingstar victory bumper and burguard +1 stem, seat cover... chery bomb. idk its still on its way from Pennsylvanian. i got a steal on it. so i didnt take too much time to check it over. it looks beautiful, and was always dealer maintenance. so i know it will be nice. let me see if i cant find the u tube thing he sent me.....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=moxk-G77reY that should do it. its pretty nice. i dont like how he revved it like that but... whateveri guess... its sat for the last year he said.

ive thought about it trading up for a 450 but i love the reliability and the reverse so for now im staying with the 400 and im not sure what i would get out of my bike now 400's are selling for pretty cheap

never had a quad with reverse until i got the ltz400, what a great idea. lol no i didnt really care too much when the 400 sold for 3800:D and i got the ltr for 3000:eek2:

Rebuilt the banshee, and then wanted a car. So off the 400ex went (because i was already in love with the banshee) and the banshee just had more money sunk into it over the past while.

No pics, but mods were in my sig. I sold my 400 and now I am in the market for another quad. I keep telling myself not to buy another 400 cuz when I had it the 450s were so much quicker. But its so cool to be able to lug up a hill climb with all that torque. I never had not so much as one issue with my 400. Wait I had to replace starter relay once...

I need a deal on a 450 !!! Whats a good price on a new one?? Seriously

I would say anywhere between 2,000 and 2,500 would be a deal on a decent condition 450
