I put on an 06 swingarm on my 01 400ex. Everything mounted up great. I recently put on the 450r rear shock and main 450r linkage. Lowered the bike alot, looks sick. Rides real smooth too. But there's an issue I noticed. I have the rezzy facing the front of the bike, just like it was on the 400 shock. If you pick the back of the bike up, the rezzy hits the shock mount, almost like it won't allow the suspension to travel all the way up. Is the rezzy supposed to be towards the rear of the bike? Anyone have this problem or notice this? Also, is there any downfall to the 450 linkage? I noticed I immediately bottomed out my shock and it needs to be stiffened ALOT. It was fine on my 450..

If you read what I wrote, that's how it is now. It's not facing the airbox. It's facing the front of the bike. And upon travel, the rezzy is hitting the shock mount. It seems like the mount is preventing the bike from using all of it's travel. Like I hit a jump, and while in the air the swingarm will drop down and the shock lenghtens, the rezzy hits the shock mount and stops it from going down further.. Does the same thing if the bike is on the ground, and I grab the wheelie bar and lift up. The rezzy hits the mount.

could you take some side view pics of your bike, im curious to see how much it lowered it down. might try and put your 400ex linkage on and see if it changes anything?

Are you running the 450r linkage as well? And which way is your rezzy facing? Towards the airbox or towards the front of the bike?

I will post some pics of what I am encountering later on. I tried to do it now and it says file size too big. I'll have to retake them with a different camera.

I'm running into the same problem. I'm just gonna run it facing airbox too. Any tips or advice on making the tube from the Carb to the filter fit jimmyjam?

mine worked fine but I used the frame to shock 450r linkage and the dogbone from the 400ex

Bout time someone knows what I'm talking about.. I knew I couldn't be the only one. Yea, what's the fix for turning the shock around? Everyone says it runs into problems with the intake...?

It just makes it a pain to hook the intake tube to the airbox/filter. It makes it to where it has hardly any room. Ill try to post pics of both ways tomorrow.

I figured it out fellas! I just switched the shock around, and in addition, I installed a brand new set of gtthunder XC rebuilds front and rear! with the 450 linkage, spun the shock around, and new shocks, wow.. what a difference.

P.S. the intake was a *****! I don't know how you would do it with an airbox, good thing I don't run one ;)
