Get 4ply or 6ply?

Which to get?

The 6 ply is only like .4 pounds heavier, and only 4 bucks more, but whats the big difference?

more punture resistance, but really not much, i jsut get 4, i will never punture my tires, excepte my stockers

Usually, the more plies, the heavier the tire and more puncture resistant. The more plies has nothing to do to with the tread pattern, diameter, and width. They are designed to take more punishment than the lower quantity plies.

Note: I find that trying to repair sidewalls with a lighter duty tire (like the stockers) are not as easy as the heavier duty ones (XC). The heavier duty ones do not tear as easily and do not continue ripping as easily after you plug them.

Looks like somebody is gonna get a flat for saying that:D the 4ply will do ok if you dont ride around many rocks and small stumps.I had the 4ply razors and only put one plug in them the whole time i had em.Now i have the 6ply Razor II and i put a plug in one of them within a month.But im pretty hard on tires too.

Ive got 6ply Razor all the way around..Get the 6 ply!! The more insurance from a flt the better.
Ive gone campin for a long weekend out of town & gotten flats ,there is nothin worse then dealin with that when you are far for home , plus buyin a tire from a dealer if you are on the road you better bring some vasoline if you know what I mean

The weight is not that much of difference to be a factor

Many people dont think about this but a 6ply is alot stiffer and will bulge less when flat it wont span out as much at high speed and holds the ground better in powerslides.. i would get a 6 anywhere ...but 4ply is just about as good

we went with the razr 6 ply, and the only weight difference between the 4 and the 6ply is a pound more each. The Guys at Rocky Mountain went and weighed them for me before I ordered them..I think if you ride in areas that are rocky and rough like we do here,its worth a few xtra bucks to buy...;)

Yup, go with the 6-ply. I have them and love them. I have been on some pretty rocky trails (sharp, jagged rocks) and they have held up great. Not even any cuts or chunks out of the sidewalls yet.
