SRH,
just curious, but you would be interested in using an electric shift on a 450? I don't know if you have already looked into it or not.

I was on Raptor Forums the other day and saw this thread.

Here is the website

It's $750, so it would be an expensive project, but I think you have the skill and ability if you set your mind to it.

I like the Scrambler btw

i thought about it, those pingel ones seem very hard to dial in and keep in adjustment, there is some good ones out there but there quite expensive, hpd makes a 250r geometry chassis for this motor ive just been waiting for one to pop up reasonable used, i honestly think this especially in a lighter chassis would kill my old 450s

Do you have any of those seat covers in stock at Bikes, Quads and Trikes?

I see. A Scrambler 500 engine in a 250r chassis? I'd look into that haha. That could be alot of power on a good platform.

Still, a 400 two-stroke (assuming the Scrambler you posted pictures of is the 400) would be pretty wild. :blah:

yeah the one i posted is a 400..2 wheel drive i also have a 4x4 500...the 400 is fast the 500 is ok for playing around thats about it..the 400 has plenty of hp but handles like a lawn mower

I love how your quad is all clean...except for the front tires! You even cleaned the rims off! lol

I had a 2-wheel drive 400 back in the day...I loved it. I had one of the RcR racing kits, and a big (42mm i think) carb on it. It would accelerate faster than my buddies Banshee (but couldn't beat him up top).

I've run into some people on various forums that had all kinds of crap done to them, and they absolutely scream.....though you are right about the handling.

Would be pretty sweet to get one of those fully decked out in the 250r frame....All the people that I ran into that had the crazy ones were over at ATVconnection.com. Check over there in the Polaris forum if you are interested.

i remember a while ago on here someone found an old walsh (i think) hybrid frame for those motors. my dad used to have one of them and he claimed it ripped. i dont think its anything like todays 450s but they could be fun especially if it put out 70 hp. i mean its basically an old polaris snomobile motor so the possibilities are endless

the wheels and tires are new except the front tires...itll be a cold day in hell when i scrub front tires down on a 1200 dollar quad

i think its a bit faster than my 450s were it pulls way harder it doesnt have the instant torque ...but i bet one of these motors in a 250r geometry frame would be an awesome mx quad...or at least a very fun one

I have one of those 400 4x2 scramblers..

Its got alot of port work, a giant carb and some slick tires..

Its scary fast sometimes, and I agree that she handles like a mower.. on the best days...

I had one of those for a while, but it was really modified. 440 kit, hpd cool head, 42 carb, porting, the whole works. Even went through and stripped down the frame. stripped everything off we didn't need and gusseted it. we were able to lighten that thing up considerably Even made our own a-arms to get it out to 50 inches. had works shocks on the front and remote rezzy fox on the rear. That thing was fun, it was a torque monster!! It was really quick, but never could get any top end out of the thing
