canam 450???

going to buy a quad this summer, just doing the research. how would a canam 450 do racing desert out west in so. cal...? i have seen some great deals on them. how is the gearing? suspension? what is the pink wire, are they efi? any info would be great. thanks

if your doing desert racing i would get something a little more reliable like honda 450r, can am has problems with the gas boiling and stuff, hondas are extremly reliable. but the can am handles alot better and has better suspension and is prob faster with the few cheap mods.

I have a 09 Can-Am DS 450 MX and i've never had a overheading problem but it may just be the engine ice i put in it. Its the faster quad that u can buy right now.
