please help i em goin crazy tryin to figure this out
i have hmf slip on hot caMS stage 1 k&n air filter with no lid stock box
i em at sea level
some people say i need 180 m but only got a 178 and take few days to order a 180 in but most people saY it would be way way to rich
i tried 42, 48pilot & 4th notch ncvq needle 2 to 3 turns air fuel 168.170.172.175.178 i find aounrd the 168 to 172 the bike works better but stumbles up top like 5th gear wide open and its nto the rev limiter i can power threw it and hit the limiter just like a miss like runnin out of gas for split second like a sputter
what do i do or go with
also my plug is a creamy paigy colour on the steel peice but the porcalin part is white

Try a 172 main with a 42 pilot, but first move your needle down to the 3rd clip with 2.5 turns out on the screw. I'm not much higher than you & that's what worked for my 05. If it's stumbling up top, you might be getting too much air. Run a higher octane fuel too. If you normally run 91, go to 93 & see if that changes anything. Good luck............

id run 93 if had it but 91 as high as i can get

I would try like a160 jet or 162 your most likely not running out of fuel up top your hitting like a false rev limiter because you have to much fuel. 45 pilot 2 turns out on the air screw and needle on the middle clip you dont need all that fuel for a slip on

Well realy the only part of the plug to look at is way down in side the base of the porcelan. i would try the smaller main jets i have ran into this problem my self when going from a curtis sparks pipe to a gytr pipe ran into a false rev limiter tell i took fuel away i dont know every thing but i do have 3 yfz and they all run perfect

I have 2 05 yfz and had couple differnt pipes intakes ported heads stock cam position cam mod position and im at sea level and i run 165 to 168 mians never bigger have same needle run on middle clip 45 to 48 pilots air box lid of and modifyed air box and these are ful pipes not slip ons and this is what works

my plug is white with a 172 even its all black all around the inside of my threds tho beside the porclin but the porclin is white

Well put a 160 or a 162 in there make one pass with it like this and see how it runs one pass is not going to blow your engine up if its black on the edge of the top of the threads of the plug id say its rich. You say other people say its to rich also see if they can give you more imformation on this im at a shop every other day that has a dyno i see lots of dyno runs give the smaller jet a try get it up to temperture and make 1 pass with it

If jeting doesnt help make sure your fuel on and off valve is not plug if you take it out of the tank it has little screens on the end of the valve make sure there clean and make sure that the gas cap breather is not pluged blow threw it make sure its clear and if you have a after market cdi ignition box on thier try to plug your stock box back in thats all i can think of now hope this helps.

If its to lean it will bog it will run hot it want have very good power because it dont have a nuff fuel to make power looking at the plug you all most need a plug reader its like a magnifying glass to see way down in to the plug or once your used to knowing what your plug looks like normally tell you run into a problem

I trie to send message but your message box is full if you want to read your plug still there are some good examples online goggle how to read your spark plug and there are a bunch of charts and plug examples to look at that should help you
