o8 450 mx info

going to buy a quad this summer, just doing the research. how would a 450 mxr do in desert racing out west in so. cal... i know i will have to change out the small tires, but how is the gearing? what is the fox suspension like? what is the ktm engine like? any info would be great. i found 08 $3999.

i got the 525 irs and the suspension is right on the money. the ktm power plant is amazing i would recommend and outlaw for every rider

I think you would love the KTM motor. The only issue is that the case temps get a bit high with constant full throttle runs. Maybe just invest in an oil cooler too and you will have a winner.

My daughter won every Womens class race in the WORCS and ITP Quadcross with the 450s. She was 7th in Pro-am points (worcs) till she took a soil sample.<G>
Fox shocks are good. The daughter ran PEP PB1's. Best shock she's had she said.

If interested, I'll have the front end for sale as it's 53" wide (made for worcs). That won't do here in the east racing (50" max).
