so someone enlighten me... at what point do u need to do the crank to a heavy dudy rod and like, i snapped the rod on my last 440 and i was thinking id build another but i want to do a more sound 440, titanium valves and je piston, hd head studs, port and polished.

is it a fluke that i lost the rod and they should be able to stand a 440 no problem?

or should i go to a heavy duty crank? let me tell u it made a mess when it broke.
id rather not see that again. any suggestions?

Well it could be because u were running alot of compression, what was the compression you were runnin

U could juz get a 426 and a 4mm stroker crank wit a heavy duty rod and it makes it?? i think its around 450cc but dont quote me on that but that makes the most since the 416 wit a stroker is 440 and the 440 wit a stroker is 460

it was an 11:1 comp namura piston. thats not bad. idk i might just do a extreme motor once and see what kind of animal i can pull in. gives me an excuse to go big on everything.lol

ya wow 11:1 is nothing
Ive seen ppl runnin 13:1 440s b4 but i usally run 11:1 or 12:1 in my 400s depending on how i want to build one and have never had any problems even with the 12:1
