No cracks, just looks like the top coat has come off in places. I had to scrape top coat off metal sides. Since the worn off top coat on the metal was perfectly lined up to disks, I'd almost say this slipper sprocket has never slipped!

I'll post up a pic in a bit.

And by top coat I should call it glazing. It just knocks right off. After taking off glazing, one disk measures .113in and the other .115 in on ave. Is that in tolerance to new?

It was bugging me, so I went and got a new set of disks I had in storage. They measure 3.0mm thick and mine now are 2.9mm. Is that in tolerance?

That looks like the paint from the gear itself that I have seen on some, flakes right off? I have been blasting the gear and scuffing the discs to remove all the factory paint/coating. JMO though

Looks the same as ours the first time we took it off.

yea, it must have been the paint, it did just flake off with a finger nail. any ideas on wear thickness?? I've heard just a little off, and they stop working, but don't know the tolerance.

Bruce thequadfather just had 1 go bad he may still have the old parts and can give you some measurments.
He had trouble getting his to work and changed out the belvelwasher with one i gave him and it started working.

I'm very sure it is okay. I ran mine for over a year and a half on a 70. The disks were all cracked up too. When I replaced it before this season it was still working fine. I'd believe that as long as there is disk material left for the washer to slip - it is good - as long as you torque it down.
I tourque mine at 95 ft pounds. For your 50 and him being a little fella, you could go less. My thought - I want it to slip a little, better than a broken tranny and even worse - broken cases. JMO

Take a marker and mark both pieces to see if it is working.

I cut my own replacement disc's from 1/8" (.125) sheet material I get from clutch rebuild shop, cut them out with a waterjet cutter and get like 10 of them in 5 minutes.

I get roughly .115 inches to 3mm on my brand new discs. My problem has been with the nut overhanging the output shaft. Id say ur fine on tolerances. When u consider there is probably .1 inch of adjustment built in to accomadate the wear of the discs when you look at the 4 slots that the larger outside clutch washer rides in.
