Have been thinking about getting another truck for a while now; missed having one ever since I got rid of my f150 beast with the 393 stroker, but it's hard to want to spend money when you drive a company car with free gas. Was really looking for a standard cab GMC/Chevy 2500/3500 standard cab with an 8.1 or Duramax, but then I came across this on ebay...and I've always liked this style Ford. It's a 1997 F350 XLT 4x4, 460 engine, 5speed with manual shift 4x4, dual tanks, new Eagle alloy rims and Cooper tires, new heavy duty bumper and Reese hitch, diamond plate truck box, auto-check certified, very few light scratches...and only 16,661 ORIGINAL certified miles. Of course I paid more than blue book...but these were tough trucks, and it's like brand new. In the same price range, I couldn't have bought what I started looking for w/o it having over 100k miles...not a huge deal since it's a second vehicle, but still. Now I can tow my boat, haul my snowmobile, thow my 'R in the back, and carry plywood...all in my own truck again:)

Yea me too...plain and simple, which I like. Couldn't pass it up. Think it'll be enough truck to tow a 20' boat? Hahaha...

Hey thanks...no burnout videos yet. I chewed thru too much rubber on my F150 with those shenannigans...haha. I'm booking a flight from Ohio to South Dakota and road tripping it home; should be on Saturday.

sweet truck. I always liked that body style but it had to be an F350 for me to like it cause of the straight axle. The 250 had that horrible independant front end that was junk haha. But i gotta ask why so low of miles? It wasnt a collectors item so why didnt the original owner enjoy it since he had paid for it?

Well I wondered about that as well. The car history report showed every single time it was titled and registered. It was a 3 owner truck, and the last time it was reported, the mileage was 15,xxx. No accidents, commercial use reported, no snowplow mounted, no heavy trailering, no salvage title, etc. I asked the current owner(s), and the husband said that he bought it for the same reason that we're all bs'ing about how we like it so much...because it was that clean and he liked the style. He said that they currently have two 3/4 ton diesel trucks and this one never got driven; always sat in the garage.

Reason he didnt drive it is cause as you already know or will find out: it gets 10mpg if your easy and 5mpg if you beat it.

It is a very nice clean truck tho.

Not a Ford guy by any means, but I can appreciate a clean truck. Nice find.

Haha yea my F150 with the 351 and 3:55's ate it up pretty good too; when I took it out to 393 and put 4:10's in it, it honestly didnt change much- still could get 11-15 on the highway, and I wasn't always easy on it; with an Auburn limited slip at both ends, I could write my name in permanent black tire marker anywhere I pointed that beast. I had true 2.5 dual exhaust and Flowmaster 50 series mufflers; it literally would set off car alarms if they were sensitive enough.

This truck has 3:56 gears and a 5spd, so it shouldn't kill me too bad. It's a second vehicle anyways, so mileage wasn't a prime concern. Hell, I probably could've towed my boat with a v6 S10 or Tacoma...something like that, but I wanted a full-size to haul full-size crap. I had even considered a Lightning...always loved those, but stepside short bed...needed it to be somewhat practical. Always wanted a manual shift truck. Don't need 4x4, but having a snowmobile and my 'R, it will be nice to have again. Figured, what the heck...why get just enough when I can go entirely overboard....
