Just as the title says, are there any differences? I got a good deal on an 05 cylinder thats in very good condition for being used I just couldn't pass up. I also need to know if an 05 piston fits an 06, my guess is it doesn't since the crank is different on the 06 but i'm not sure. Normally i would just buy an 06 piston but the 05 one is so close and brand new JE 12.5:1 for $150 is hard to pass up since i need it running by next weekend.

Cylinder will work on all years... piston won't

that dosent make any sense. no offense but if the cylinder fits the piston fits. 95mm is the std size of all 04-09 pistons. 04-05 have a different crank not piston. 06-08 has a longer stroke which bumps up the cc from 439 to 449

you have a pm Raptor350yamaha

I think the waist pin is a diffrent size and location.... The overall diameter is the same in all years... Look it up '04-'05 have a diffrent part number then the rest of the years...

04-05 only have diff part #s because the 04-05 have a shorter stroke. putting a 04-05 piston in a 06+ will only lower the compression of the piston. for example: 04-05 13:1 piston in a 06 will be a 12.4:1 putting a 06-08 13:1 in a 04-05 will raise compression to 13.6:1 im not 110% sure on the actual compression ratio changes but it does make a difference. wrist pins only changed in the WR dirtbike cranks they use a smaller pin

I have an 05 cylinder 08 crank and 04-05 piston. I've had this setup for two years no problems.
