2005 400ex problems

hey guys , got an offer on my 2000 400ex today , for a 2005 400ex , mine has a 440 kit and stage 3 cam and the guy said he would trade straight across , the 2005 is all stock i guess but do you think its worth the trade ??? its 5 years newer and he just put a new clutch and rear bearings in it a couple months ago , and if it is a good trade is there any problems with the 2005s i need to know about ??? thanks

Well the only things different are the plastics and it'll have reverse. Why are you looking to trade? Unless yours is in need of a rebuild and you don't want to go thought it or something I would keep the 440.

I wouldn't trade My 440 for anything other than a KTM 450 or an Outlaw 525. Never trade down son, You'll have nothing but regrets. JMO.

I think you are gonna get a lot of different opinions here...
the 05's are nice... they have reverse... i wish i had it...
But your machine is already bored out... you know how it handles.. how it runs... the history of it...
You don't know much bout this other machine.. for all you know it's on it's last leg... but then again.. it may not be.. it's a hard decision to make.. weigh out the options...

well heres the deal, i traded my 88 250r for my 440ex , i didnt do any of the motor work or the cam the original owner did it so tech i dont really know the history , i do know it got hit tho in the front on the right , i had to replace the upper a arm but the shock mount is still bent back and the plastics got a 3 inch crack on the fender. my buddy has an 05 and the only problems he has ran into is the rear bearings and his clutch which was replaced on the 2005 he wants to trade , as for reverse its nice to have but i can deal with out . idk i was just throwin this out there , if i do do it i would plan on this summer putting a 440 kit or 426 kit in there and doing all the work my self that way i know how things go and not just going by some guys word like i did with my 440.
