So what oil do you use in your pred. I just picked up an 03 and need to change the oil. I did some searching and found some huge debates on it. All i want to know is what do YOU use.

I have the outlaw with the same motor as the predator and from day 1 i have used only polaris oil and have not had a problem with the motor yet.

I was told that amsoil tends to give certain bikes alot of clutch slippage. is this true ?

No, its not true. 4-stroke oils used in ATV's, MC etc with a wet clutch all have to meet the same spec's, JASO MA/MA2. If the oil you are using does not display that on the label, your are using the wrong oil

AMSOIL makes all kind various oil and no matter what the brand of oil, you must use the appropriate oil for the application. For instance, do not use automotive types oil in powersports equipment that have a shared engine and transmission (wet clutch). Auto oils are made with less friction while wet clutch oils need a certain amount of friction to operate effectively. Using the wrong oil can and will cause problems although some will never admit that and will seek out oil based solely on price.

So seems like alot of people are using rotelle t. What weight are you using and synthetic or non synthetic?

15W-40 is not the best viscosity to use in small engines, I would go no higher than a 10W-xx. People have the mistaken belief that the higher the W number the better the oil but that's not true. Higher cold weather viscosity oils in small engine makes them work hard to lubricate and at cold operating temps (engine temp below 100° F that oil will be slower to move than a 5W. The only thing the number in front of the W means is how thick the oil is cold.
