I am looking at buying a ktm 450sx. But, I notice that a lot of guys that have them are changing out the factory a-arms for lonestars or some other brand. I thought that roll design made the factory a-arms, why are people changing them out. I assume they are long travel from the factory? Just trying to figure out what all needs to be done to make one of the KTM's a true race quad or are they actually good to go from the factory?

Thanks for everyone's input.

They aren't long travel but i think some long travel suspensions can work on the stock a-arms. But LT shocks work a lot better on aftermarket a-arms.

I run the stock a-arms with revalved WPs. For the price its a great set up!

The shock mounting location isn't the greatest.... The aftermarket company adress this problem... Some company do make arms thats you can run stock a-arms.....

go on ktmatvhq.com a guy on there named brad mulvey will relocate the shock mounting point put new lower ball joints in and powdercoat them fro you for around 150 bucks they said the mod helps the suspension free flow allot more def would be worth it for a sx

good luck
