ok i have a 2002 mustang gt. my brakes squeak a lot i was wonderig if this is a common thing for these cars? i was told that the rims i have on it (gt rims) make it so that dirt and hwat not get on the rotor easier making hte squeaking. Any info would be helpful. thanks.

What condition are the pads and rotors in? And are All of the anti rattle clips in place?

Check the pads, it's most likely the indicators.

Could be as simple as a small rock stuck in the pads. Could be metal on metal cause the pads are gone. If you replace the pads make sure to buy top of the line. I went the cheap way once when i replaced my pads and they squeaked like a pig. Put much higher quality ones on and the it went away entirely.

the pads are good and so are the rotors. before i bought it it sat outside for a few months without being moved but all the surface rust should of went away by now. ill have to sheck the pads make sure they are in all the way and see if those clips are in. thanks

My parents have an '02 gt and the brakes have never made any squeking noise.

my old 01 GT did that but it was either the indicators or a rock is stuck in there. More than likely a rock since the pads are good as you say.
