looking to purchase a high performance air filter for my 08 400ex.

2 questions,

1} which is best?

2} will air filters for 07 models fit 08 models?

thanks!

1. I have used K&N all my life and they can be cleaned and restored to juss like brand new.
2. Yes, all 400ex airfilters fit all models

I prefer a Uni, and I have an outerwears over it just to cut down on the cleaning.

thanks for the replies. Motorcycle-superstore.com only has k&n under the 07 model, not the 08 or 09 so i was confused. Also, what about Quadworks? http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/4/23/412/11227/22380/PITEM/Quadworks-Stage-2-Power-Kit-2007-Honda-TRX400EX-Parts.aspx this kit looks good but not sure if id be better off with a KN and Keihln jets?

how about exhaust?

full exhaust?

slip on?

brand?

thanks

umm, I have the racing kit... I got a K&N, and I have an 08... it gave me jets, outerwears prefilter, and the K&N cleaning kit. I have HMF slipon... I am currently looking for a cheap FMF powerbomb header pipe.. that is wat I believe will give the most horsepower... Try denniskirk.com they have alot of stuff there.
UNI is good, but everyone I know runs K&N...

get a foam filter.k&n gives you slightly more hp but it also lets more dirt in

With this outerwears prefilter, my actual filter rarely gets BAD dirty..

A well maintained K&N with an Outerwear is just as good as anything else at keeping crap out. Plus you get the hp of the K&N
