thinking of getting some ltr450 shocks for my ex. the reason i want ltr's is i hear alot of people saying the 450r's make the front sit higher, the ltr's is shorter. just wondering if there is much difference between the two and what kind of cutting needs to be done to make them fit. thanks

my friend bought some long travel a-arms and used the ltr shocks for long travel shocks and he said they ride real good

your cousin may have made them softer to... That will lower the front and make them seem shorter.

he has the 09 and no he didnt even know you could make them softer or harder so they are still stock

the only reason they look shorter is becuase they have alot of sag in them. you pick the front end completely off the ground and measure them again and i'm sure you'll see that they're way too long

but they would fit on a 400 wiith not many mods?

as far as where they mount, yes. But they are TOO LONG, and will be too stiff if you are lucky enough to get them bolted up. Honestly, 450r shocks aren't that stiff, the 2004-2005's are softer. On the other hand, LTZ400 shocks fit perfectly and ride very smooth

I went with the YFZ 450 shocks and they are AWESOME:eek2: lowered it a bunch ( well i turned mine down as low as theyd go) but the height is adjustable, and i believe rebound is as well?..I love 'em heres the thread from when I installed my shocks...
