I was riding last evening and cased a 80ft kicker triple and both bones in my right leg snapped on the landing without me even falling off my quad. I'm going to get a permanent cast tomorrow but how long do they usually say to wait until I race again?
Thanks

Ouch! Heal up son! You will probly be non weight bearing for 6-8 weeks. I'd say 10-12 before you can race, if not later. :ermm:

Sorry to hear that man. It sucks to be laid up. We've all been there!

Just saw it on fbook man, that really sucks! Summer will suck for you I bet!

Time to brush off the old R/C, and spend some time on ATVriders I guess! lol

Thats exactly what i did 4 years back. Cased a 90foot kicker and did not even fall off bike. If you broke your tib/fib your going to be out 3-4 months before u can ride with out pain. I have a rod from my knee to my ankle. Not sure how bad yours is but if your getting a cast it might not be that bad at all. so time will vary. good luck hope u recover sooner.

Sucks dude! I've done both mine. I think the younger you are, the quicker you heal. The worst part is its right before summer. I feel for you man. Atleast its your right. Take enough of them pain killers and you can still shift!

Dude it depends how serious it is. I did the same exact thing a couple of years ago and I was in a wheelchair for like 4 months and in a boot for like another two. I didnt ride for a total of 6-7 months, and I rode earier than I was supposed to.
I hope you heal faster than I did..

did you break the tib/fib?

I did this 2 years ago, compound tib/fib break, and my tibia splintered so there was a piece missing and ended up having to go back and get a bone graft, no fun at all.

Hopefully youre break wasnt as bad as mine but i didnt ride for a year and a half, and it still hurts when i ride sometimes.

well sorry to hear that, i broke my tib and fib when i was 6 except i was running upstairs and fell, ahahahh but anyway if you get to much cabin fever depending on which leg you broke you can still ride as long as you broke your break foot and not your shifting foot....ahhaha drive around your yard and use your front breaks

EDIT:just read your orginal post and saw it was your right foot and thats your brakeing foot so you can still ride technically, lol just dont got fast or crazy, just put-put around

I'll keep ya in my prayers. Guess havin a broke motor aint so bad after considering what could be. Now u'll have to go to the track as a flagger instead of riding the track. Get better soon.

You musta broke it bad!! fyi.. what doc says for riding compared to your own self control is two different things. haha

If you can post xrays it would be awesome!

He has been constantly doing physical therapy and improving little by little. At this point there's not much more that can improve but he has pretty good control of his arms now.

ATVMX33

I think the tibia is the larger one??
He said the smaller bone may never heal or just heal like that but it doesn't matter...kinda weird

I'm sure your bummin!! Bad time of year to be laid up! I did the same thing here in the spring about 5 years ago.

You need to manipulate the injury and believe that its your destiny!!! Least thats what Mike Alessi's dad said on "inside the outdoors" !!

Good luck, Drink milk - take vitamins and stay off it as much as possible. Maybe pick up another hobby like RC cars or Video taping other riders!!! Hope to see you at the track sometime this summer - even if ya can't ride, being at the track is still better then sitting home.

That break isn't too bad actually. The smaller bone is your fibula and it won't realign itself but it's not a weight bearing bone so it doesn't matter anyway.
