11-27-2001, 04:01 PM
Hi im new here and yes i do have a warrior but i'm not atv racist. I think the 300ex is a pretty bad *** machine and wondering if it is a pretty good bike on the track, motocross track. I'm thinkin of getting an ex to race, but im 50, 50 on what to get. i like the 300ex its small like me and 4-stroke. The 400ex is awesome but maybe alittle to much for me. Any one have an idea on the ex I would need. p.s. i am a 4-stroke person, so a 250r is outta question.

I'm getting ready to race my 300ex on the mx
track. I'm usually a harescramble man but since
I'm gonna have an indoor track to practice on I
figured I'd give it a shot. The 300ex's race in a
different class than the 400ex's, so your not
getting your doors blown off,so it's basically
what you feel most comfortable with.Your obviuosly
going to have to mod your suspension. I just spent
$1300 on works best shocks front and rear, so
it's just how much money you have to spend.

I do not race motocross, only hare scrambles, but the motocross races I seen have more 300ex's than Warriors. I recommend going to a local motocross race and see for yourself what your locals are running. Never know, there might be a machine you like there and it might be for sale, whether it's a Yamaha, 300ex, 400ex, or whatever. I'm not racist either, I just like to see riders/racers out there, regardless of what they ride, but I personnally feel better when a Honda beats me than any other make!!!! I think you asking the questions is a great start. Don't get anything your are not sure of!!!! If you can't make it to a track, try shopping for an ATV with some key modifications for motocross. (shocks/low profile tires/etc.)

Good Luck!!!!!

get the 400ex,,you'll spend money on the 300ex to get it race ready and by then you'll have spent enough to buy a 400ex,,which will kick but stock..

yeah go with the 400ex. its got more power but its a better machine for racing. dont worry about havin too much power because u'll get used to it.if u get a 300ex ull spend hundreds of dollars fixin it up.

My freind lost his leg in a motorcycle wreck he came around a corner and a dump truck was in his lane and ran over him
but this didn't stop him from riding . He gets on and pulls in the clutch and reaches down with his right hand and puts it in gear and gets going then he reaches down with his left hand and shifts once he gets in a certian gear he justrides at a comfortable speed he has no problem staying on he rides hard and jumps to he has a track he made at his house and he clears
a 45 to 50 foot jump all day.:huh redrider ex

Just today on Ripleys I saw something like that. A guy on a crotch rocket wrecked and lost his left leg and left arm. He set his rocket up with a clutch and front brake on the right, and a gear shifter and back break on the right side. And he can corner and everything with one arm. It was pretty sweet.

Go with the 400ex..... You will dump a crap load of cash into a 300ex to work it to the balls And it still wont be able to touch a stock 400ex...... A worked 400ex can keep up with just about any other quad out there......:square

yeah the cheaper way to go is to get a modded up used 300ex or a new 400ex and mod it. as you get better

there's a guy around here that rides at the pearl river on a worrior he welded a piece of metal from the shifter on the left side under the bike and comes up on the right side like a shifter on a truck- (he doesn't have a left leg) - works out pretty good-
you have to take your thumb off the throttle anyway so.....

and he's fast too- was smokin' some other worriors and 300's out there that day and coming close to some 400's- but of course he couldn't catch me- ya' know- hated throwin sand in a one legged man's eye's :D he from a 4wd truck (without a loading ramp- and loads it (without a loading ramp) and will not axeept help from anyone- me and a guy felt bad and went over and grabed his axle to lift it in there for him-
no way- he said...

( " now you 2 just back up and get on outa here now.. i gatta learn to do this myself.. i can't ride if i can't get it out here so i gatt'a learn on my own how to get it in and out by myself..you ganna follow me home?" " you ganna come by in the mornin' when i'm ready to leave?" )

kinda' scary ya' know

I have a 300ex that i just love to death.. and i think i liek it better than the 400ex's and 250ex's it has enough power and has enough ba*ls to hole it's own on the track...

But go with wha ever you want to go with
