what oil do you guys use for each side? can it be bought in large bulk? is it reasonably priced, or expensive?

i'm tired of goin and gettin a quart or 2 and having to run get more everytime it's time to change the oil.. i want to stockpile atleast 12 quarts for each side..

it all depends on the frequency that you change your oil you can get Valvoline $53 a case delivered from amazon. not a great oil but if your changing often it's about the cheapest that I have found. you can run in both side, most of the oils aren't much different in price from singles to cases. if you were to buy Honda gn4 its a little cheaper getting the gallons. also for single prices the suzuki oil is reasonable. I personally use the KLOTZ MX4 and I have yet to find any discounts but I trust the oil and that is worth the price in my mind

I use Rotella 15w40 and change both sides every race. It's around $10 a gallon around here.

amsoil 0w-40 motor....and amsoil gear saver 75w-90 i think on the tranny.....but very expensive..it's about $13 for a liter of the gear saver and $10 for the motor oil....but i know some ppl and can get it cheaper but it's very pricey.

The best in my opinion :chinese:

^^ Actually! ^^
If you change your oil as often as you should, Rotella for the price is hard to beat! Let them spend the extra coin. HP Tranny oil for the clutch.

must only do a few MX races? Id be changing oil sometimes 10 times a ride if I did it every hour lmao. Might as well buy a tanker if I did that.

on your 10 hour rides do you stop for gas every three hours how do you do that? 10 hours would be at least 3 gas ups for me I dont cary that much fuel you mustnt run race fuel that would be over $120 in fuel

maybe i should have said about. i mx 99% of the time. if i trail ride it it might go 2 or 3 then it gets changed. but most of the time i manage to hit it pretty close to the hour mark.

I definitely run race fuel, but I also never claimed to ride for 10 hours straight. 4 or 5 hours of practice with a few breaks is usually about my max.

ya blaster I meant flybuy Im just wondering if his 10 hour rides include breaks just kidding! if you ride that much good for you, I dont have enough area to ride 10 hours it takes me 10 hours to ride 5 hours dont have the money to ride that much but I still like to be out all day but that isn't 10 hours of riding and then 5 hours of maint

Crazy!

I'm primarly a trail rider now and change my crankcase and gear case oil every other weekend of ride time. I would assume I'm probably getting 12-16 hours of run time in between changes.

If it's a race weekend, I change both sides before the weekend and both sides after the weekend.

i just had my engine rebuilt because i locked it up. The guy who rebuilt it said that the reason it did this was becuase of my rod bearing. He said that you are supposed to change your oil every six hours of ride time unless you race then you should do it before and after each race. I would think if you change your oil this often then you could get away with running rotella instead of more expensive oils.
