Just finished my 440ex motor via 4mm stroke crank stage 2 cam. I know it needs the 450r carb, thats in the mail now. I have the stock carb on it now with 170 main and a 42 pilot 3rd notch needle. Starts great , idles good . You gun it and it takes off like its going to set the world on fire , then it falls flat on its face. I am asking you guys, is it because the carb is to small? Thanks.

Do a plug chop then report back with the results. It's definitely not because the carb is too small. Plenty of people run stock carbs with 440s.

Your motor is basically set up like mine and I'm runnin a 190 main (Slightly Lean). You might even wanna try a 195. A stock carb works fine for me. Check my sig.

I ran a 42 pilot, 178 main and needle on 4th notch from the top when I still had the stock carb on my stroker.
