so my dad just bought a 84 250r 3wheeler, he bought one brand new in '84 also, but had to sell it.
He's got another one now and we're wondering if you can run 75W-140 oil in it. the book says 75W-90.
I'm sure somebody in this forum has the 250r trike too, so any advice from you would be appreciated
Thanks
Josh

1st off - check out our homepage - airfoolers.com which is dedicated to 1981-1984 250R Trikes!

As for oil - run a GOOD synthetic oil in your bottom end. I personally run Amsoil Motorcycle Tranny oil with GREAT results. As for the premix - again, don't skimp and buy cheap 2stroke oil from some corner store. I run Amsoil Interceptor with my gas (32:1) and again I have great results with this combo.

Keep the Airfooler Trikes alive bro!!

okay thanks. he is currently running Lucas 2 stroke oil for the premix at about (24:1) and the bottom end, the bike has good clean oil so hes not going to change it yet.

he only bought it on thursday, thats why i am finding these things out now.

also, i ride a 2001 400ex with all the goodies listed in my sig. and his 250r just about keeps up to me on the straight drag race we had ;p. but as for trails, forget it. haha

just so you know, a air cooled and liquid cooled 250r are completely different in every way. Very little parts are interchangable. You would be looking for a 85 or 86 atc250r, not a 81-84.
