i have a 1996 honda 300ex that wont go into neutral. my shift pattern is 1, neutral, 2,3,4,5. so i have to put it in 1st gear then half a click up should be neutral, but it just goes into 2nd. it started this last year when it got warmed up, but now it always does it. if i shut off engine then i can click it up into neutarl and restart. what can i do to fix it?

Sounds like the clutch cable needs adjusting...maybe

I know my 400ex did this after I installed a new cable/lever. It worked great for about 30mins of track riding then it wouldn't go into neutral, Had to tighten the cable up and has worked great since.

o thats wierd. i am having a problem with the neutral and reverse lights....

they dont go on period. i looked at the wires and one had a little slice in it so i got my dads meter and tested it and it holds current but the lights just wont work.. my dad cheaked like everything censidering he is an electrician. he cheaked the bulbs and everything. he says it must be a ground in the motor or something...

i dont need the lights but i have them drilled into the side of my plastics with my ignition on the otherside, it would be nice for them to work but i dont care for them.
