i wanna get my elka springs powdercoated. how do i get the springs off the shocks themselves?

loosen the top preload nut all the way. then hold the bottom of the shock and push the bottom retainer up(compressing the spring a bit) and look for the notch on the bottom retainer and take it off the shock.

ahhhhhh there naked...
any color suggestions? im doing a black gloss frame, bright red aarms and swingarm, red plastics with k&k graphics. i was thinking bright red for the big springs and mirror black for the other 2 springs... :confused:

Can u take the springs off of works?? Cause my paint is chipping and i was wondering if i could repaint.
