I was wondering if any has their swingarm guard? I am wanting to find something for more protection than the plastic, and would like something to cover the bottom of the shock from rocks hitting it. Thanks in advance.

I run prm full skids bumpers and guards on my 05 trx 450r with good results they are there thickest skids. I really like the rear skid it fits tighter to the swing arm for more ground clearance than others i have run and the linkage area does not dig in to the ground as bad either. I feel they are worth the money.

How thick was the skid you bought?

.250 which i believe is 1/4" thick.

Any problems with the weight of it holding the rear end down at all?

For the type of riding, weight is not an issue, protection is . PRM has several different thickness plates from dune and mx to gncc type skids.

I have a .250 PRM as well and it is HEAVY. It does offer good protection though.

Would you recommend the .190 or the .250? I do a lot of trail riding and some small racing from time to time.

what is the terrain like where you ride and what kind of racing do you do I have had good luck in the past with the .190 skids before the .250 came out. There are a lot of rocky areas were i ride and I pretty much keep all four on the ground so I went with the .250 skid. If your area is not to rocky and you do a fair amount of jumping the .190 would be sufficient. either way i am sure you will be satisfied.

if you ride hard and you ride on the rock house trail definetly the .250 but other than that the .190 would be fine. if this is your 1st trip Hatfield and McCoy you are in for a good time.

Yea, we are headin to rockhouse and this is our first trip there. I sure hope this is going to be a good time. I have never heard anything bad about the place either. I think i am going to get the .190 because I try to stay away from sliding on rocks as much as I can and I don't ride REALLY hard, so i feal from what you guys have told me, the .190 will be a good fit for me. Do these things stay tight as well, or do they start vibrating loose?

I always use the removable lock-tite on the mounting bolts. We always stay at Logan at the super 8 you can start riding from the motel through town up above town to some good trails and then load up the next day and go to Man at the rockhouse trail head and ride to Gilbert. You need to stay at least two days if not more.

We are going to be starting out in Gilbert, and ride the rockhouse trails.

If your riding places like Rockhouse, I would go ahead and get the .250 skid. They are heavy, but they are SUPER tough.
