Anybody else using both? When I mounted my stuff up there is only about 1/8" of space between the lower run of the bong and the oil tank. Just curious.:)

I have the same setup. Clears with a bit more room though. Make sure the oil tank is aligned correctly, and that the header pipe is completely seated on the cylinder.

Good Luck.

Kinda wierd. I checked the pipe, as matter of fact I took it of and put it back on 3 times and it looks to me like I have everything straight on the oil tank.:huh Do you have a pic of your by chance? Could you take one if not?

I appreciate the help.

I don't have a Pingry tank but a FDO tank. They are very close to the same thing. My Powerbong fits nicely. I really wish I had a digital camera to show ya. :(

I do to oynot....you've been a long time member and a great asset to Exriders but I don't think I've ever seen your quad...:(

i thought a bigger oil tank would make your engine run cooler. But the guy i talked to at sparks said it wouldn't help. So what are they good for if they don't cool your engine?

Its gotta somehow help make it run cooler, because there is more oil in it, so it gives some of the oil chance to cool down. plus i think that the oil would last longer becasue of the tank because there is more oil to run through it meaning it should stay better longer..

Yeah the extra quart of Oil should help cool the motor down, but when I talked to TC abotu Oil he said the most important thing to do is to change the oil very often, like every 5 hours at the most depending on how you ride....

Bigger tanks just hole more oil. Change your oil after EVERY race, or day of riding and you'll be fine.
I didn't mean between races on race day, just when the day is over.

Rico,
Here is a pic of my baby towards the end of last season. This is before the a-arms and motor work. It sounds like I may be racing this weekend so I take some more.

I like that. The Nac's graphics look good. I think I may need to get some...

stock header and pingry...

Ive got a pingry and stock header. The space between the head and the oil tank REALLY small! I had to remove my header to get it on.
In this pic, the header is loose, but there isnt enough space to totally remove it. I would say there "might" be a maximum of 1/4 inch clearance between my header and tank

yeah, both sides...

Man that header is really close to the Tank. I'm sure with the extra quart of oil it helps cooling, but with it being that close to the header it can't help much....

yeah thats what i was thinking after i started thinking about it...

Me too. Thats why I wrapped my header in header wrap.

honda400exrider

how many degrees cooler does the header wrap make it in the almost crome like stuff? and would something like this work? or just something similar to it in general? the idea is just something that would collect heat before heatin the oil cooler. the black would be a type of metal and the silver is maybe like a hose clamp or something to hold it on... lol but maybe a different way of holding it, lol, that way is pretty ghetto...

I used up the film from the races on so I took a quick pic of my oil tank and Powerbong. Enjoy! :D

Hey guys thanks for all of the replies and pics. I see alot of differences in everyones setups. There apparently is no standard spacing. I will post pics of mine when I get a chance, but I think the header wrap sounds like a good idea.

Thanks Again,
Jason:D
