I found an air leak on this 1986 atv 250r and I do not know what is wrong with it. The leak is over the right side case between the the metal collar and the crank. I installed a new oil seal and check it out after that and still leaking.
This atv had three orings inside the metal collar and I am thinking that someone tried to stop this leak by doing that, But is does not work.
Is the bearing the problem?
I tried a different collar and got the same results. Thanks

the only way to have a leak there is thru the crank seals, the o rings might be pushing the seals out

the crank side of the seal collar you mention is a machine face that seals against the crank bearing. i've seen issues with this from time to time on the aftermarket cranks. what i do to remy this is to apply some three bond or equivelant between the collar and bearing. this should work once the crank bolt is torqued to spec.
