I have been looking to buy an aluminum bearing carrier. It seems like all i have been seeing is the double wide style carriers. Are they better than the dual row. I have had one of the dual row carriers before and it was great. What do you guys think?

if ur gona buy a carrier, go double wide or tapered, double wide is just alot stronger then stock, im on my 3rd year for mine, tapered's are even better but cost more money

Something I recommend is find one with an external zerk, what's the point of buying one with the zerk that's going to be sealed inside the swingarm? Then you'll actually grease it. Tapered is the best, IMO.

The RAD has an external zerk ;)

The Houser is overpriced and personally I don't like how the zerk sticks ups (just begging to get knocked off). The RAD is priced reasonably if you shop and has the zerk recessed into the side of the carrier. The only problem you may have with the zerk being recessed is an aftermarket axle/sprocket hub might need a little clearancing (i.e. die grinder) so the grease gun can get in there. I did it to my LSR axle (died a little inside to grind on a purty billet piece) but it cleaned up nice with sandpaper and I can get into the zerk no problem. Good luck, decent prices on ebay for some carriers.

The stock carrier is a very good carrier and what I always use. The only other carrier I would use would be the Baldwin, as it has a hardened center sleeve like the stocker.

I'm on my second LSR in 2 years, can't say I care for it, but the price was right on the second one.
