dual battery for quick starting

just wonderin if any one has done this on there machine. my bike starts so slow. i have seen this done on yami,ktm, and honda so need some help. how did you wire it up. pic if any thanks

are you sure your battery is strong? and your valves are adjusted right?

my quad took forever to start and i just had it apart and put a 14-1 piston in it and adjusted the valves which were way off and now it fires up within 1 second of hitting the button

yeah i have checked the clearance and good to go on that. Im going to install the cbr battery in it and see if that helps but doesn't start as fast as my z400 but it is efi so i know i will have some delay. just i dont want to run it as my z400 starts faster and in xc its nice to be going when the shot is fired. i like to see where im going when dusty.

It can be done. you have to add another battery somewhere, I put mine up under the front hood, redid all the brackets up there that all the wiring is on. 1 important thing is make sure tps sensor is mounted good (bad experenices) lol

you might want to check out turntechbattery.com the smallest lightes off road batts 200 cranking amps @5ah and only way 1lb so use 2 and you will still be about 12 lb lighter most stock batts wiegh about 7lbs wiegh it and see my turntech is so small i put it inside my ltr450 airbox even running a bigger k&n filter i will post some pics for ya

i would try to find one with more cold craning amps. because 2 bats is kinda silly. in my 440 ex i just sold i had to use a gsxr1000 battery to turn over the higher compression motor. it tunrned over so fast it doesnt even hesitate, fires right up.

just have to find the size u need with more cca. yausa battery has a chart that i used.

thats strange you couldnt start a 440 ex with a stock battery my 450r has a national engine with a 505 big bore kit with 55hp and the turn tech single battery starts it up with out no problem

common problem with high compression 440's. they have a decompression mechanism on the cam that opens the right exhaust valve for easier starting, however when u put a aftermarket cam in you dont use that. and i was using the stock honda battery befor i switched to the gsxr bat.
