if you have a 86 you could try a after market swing arm because the steel factoy one is heavy but that will cost you

Is your bike basically stock? It would be for motocross, duner, jumper. So it would need to be strong at the same time. I am thinking about going with an aftermarket frame to build a platform around, throwing on a set of Leager ST +2+0 arms with 4+1 offset wheels in order to give it a little more width while still keeping it somewhat maneuverable on the trails. Then linking that up to a set of fox EVOLS up front, and possible going with a No link swinger out back to shed the weight of the linkage. Couple that with a Durablue X-33 axle and lightweight hubs front and rear, a smaller/lower ply tire comba, and I am guessing that I can get it significantly below 300lbs...??? Any ideas?

most of the time aftermarket frames are the same weight or heavier, that would take a heck of a lot to get it under 300. intstead of getting it under 300pds why not spend it to get more power out of the engine?

I think power and weight both play a HUGE factor... 5 pounds could get you the holeshot! remove all the extra **** you can, but dont sacrifice strength...

You could go on a diet? You don't see horses racing with fat jockeys on them, do you?

hahahahaha. I agree with the diet thing. But im already about as low as I can go. I agree with more power but weight makes a big difference for everything from speed to handling to maneuverability. I am never going to be able to get anywhere near the drag weights because I need to keep it strong, but glad to see that it is possible. Thanks everyone.

just curious and maybe a dumb question but what "extra" stuff did every1 remove from your quads to shave a couple of pounds?
