I bought my 08 brand new about 3 weeks ago. It started right up for a while, but i ride the thing, and i learned to ride on it. Now it take a bit to get going, everytime i start it i need to give a decent amount of throttle to get it to stay running, otherwise it will just cut out.

any ideas? I ran some old regular gas through it, any chance i messed things up? or do i need to clean carb? re-jet it?

what can i do to improve the way it runs?

thanks!

Has it been sitting a bit with gas in it?

Friends of mine have 08 leftovers and the things sat for about a month and refused to stay running and were hard to get to even crank over. Threw some super in no more issues-gas was to old and the ethanol is more in the lower octanes.

I only use plus or super in mine, reg gas just has to much ethanol.

Stock pilot jet is 38. I would clean the carb. completely and replace the pilot jet with a 40 or even a 42 jet. Your main jet should be OK with it being a stock motor.
