View Full Version : do i have and oil screen?

i was looking on bike bandit and noticed an "oil screen" i cant find it, looks like its held on by one bolt. i have the clutch cover off but didnt see it..... heres the link

yes you have one, and it is held in by one 10mm bolt. look to the left of the oil pump and below the gear that the timing chain is on. its near the bottom of the case.

the diagram makes it look like its twoards the top. ill check tomorow. thanks alot! do they need changed alot? this will be rebuild number 2 on my motor, i imagine they would get pretty clogged... thanks for the info!

make sure you also check the screen thats in the bottom oil line where it connects to the oil tank. that one can get pretty clogged as it is very fine mesh.

you have to take the bottom of the tank apart and it is inside of the fitting i think. steve

well not screen in the oil line, but i did find the oil screen and tooke it out HOLT Metal shavings lol. i found 3 huge chunks of rubber and a ton of metal shavings. deffinatley and over looked thing that could save problems in the future. thanks for the help!
