Hey! are the cylinders from a 300EX and a 250X the same? I need a new one for my 300 and and found one off a 250X. I looked at the OEM Honda part numbers, and they are differant. What would I have to do to make it work? Thanks in advance.

you would also need a 250x piston or have the cylinder bored to match the 300ex piston. if th cylinder is off anyway might as well put in a new piston, if you dont have the new piston and rings yet, talk to the quadshop about a LRD309 kit, it dosent require a sleeve so its just as easy to instal as a stock pistion and you will love the power increase. just food for thought

I believe the piston sizes are the same, the stroke is different. Makeing the cylinder for a 300 a little longer, I know the heads are the same. Not positive on this info but 90%. Hope this helps.

I would do a little more research before you buy the cylinder.

I'm almost positive that he is right, honda did add a bigger stroke to make it 300, The piston sizes should not be different.

Well it does makes sense it would be differant. Although it seems like some people think everything on a 300EX and a 250X is interchangable.

I know some things are (like the cylinder head) or atleast thats what I'm told.

Thanks for your input. :)

The cylinders are 100% interchangable. The bore is the same but the stroke is different.

The piston skirt on the 300 is longer due to its increased stroke.
