View Full Version : Crankcase Breather

I am wanting to clean up the chassis a little and try to lessen some of the clutter. Can I remove the crankcase breather assy. and install a small filter on top of the breather outlet on top of the block. Maybe run it a little higher with a hose.

I think it’s better if it’s hooked up to the intake tube, that way it actually draws the hot gas out of the case. If you just put a breather tube on it, I don’t think it would work the way it’s supposed too. jmo

yes you can and it works fine BUT if you ride in any water its going in through the filter, the air box does a pretty good job of keeping moisture out, I dont have an air box so i have the small 2 inch air breather under my seat by the way i have zero intrest in riding in mud or water

Yeah, I don't run an air box either so I just put a crank breather filter on the hose. The same setup is used on street bikes and stuff.
