1987 250X only sparking sometimes

Hey guys. I just recently restored a 250X that had been setting for many years. Ive got everything ready to go but it will only spark sometimes. Im gonna say prolly every 40 kicks or so it will spark. What should i look for first??

first thing you want to do is make sure the reverse wires are hooked up good and tight. They could be moving around on the prongs cuasing this problem.

if that's OK...Change the plug. They cost about 2 dollars at autozone and sometimes it will fix the problem.

if that don't fix it then find somebody with a 250X and swap out your CDI...if that don't fix it swap out the coil. If the problem is still exist then swap out the stator. Last but not least the wire harness.
