so friday was my 16th birthday and i went and got my permit! Iv driven non stop all weekend lol. Iv been making up reasons for my parents to go places so i can drive. Its fun now but im sure itll wear out eventually. I drive our 2001 civic with a 5 speed trans so the first 10 min was extremly stressful but iv gotten good at it and only stalled it once :D Actually i have to go drive now (i love being able to say that)

Ill give you some words of advice since I seen and picked up alot of wrecks over the years.

-Dont drive to fast, specially if the roads arent dry. You will lose it and then your SOL car and all usually.

-Dont race around like an idiot, you will get into an accident.

-Drive, dont talk on the phone, eat, or do anything else till you gain a good bit of expierance.

-Watch out for the idiots on the road, theres plenty of them!

-STOP at the signs and lights and make sure no idiots are coming!

Those should help you out, safe driving man.

yeh your gonna like driving for a couple months, then all your little friends are gonna want a ride everywhere, night and day. And they wont wanna throw some gas money so your gonna be driving them around outta your pocket. And then when you get a job you gotta drive to that job 5 days a week. yep, you got it comin to ya.:devious:

I've had my learners permit for about 4 months now.. maybe a little longer.

It's definitely a little nerve racking at first, but I got used to it within a day or two. To be honest, I know almost all kids say this, but I truly consider myself a damn good driver for only being on the road 4 months.

It's already boring though.. you'll find that out soon enough.

In about a month and a half, I get my juniors:devil: Driving by myself will be 10x better.. haha.

Is it a new law? 16 the new learners permit age? Or has that just always been your states law? I got my permit when I was 15. License when i was 16.

Depends on the state, although I had been driving on farms and such since I was very young-in NJ you get your permit at 16 and license at 17.

Gotcha.

Well good luck, OP. There is ALOT of idiots out there that don't know how to drive, so watch out! You will be tired of driving before you even get your license!

good luck and be careful 2to4. When you do eventually get your license don't speed unless you want to lose you license for a few months. That part of the JOL in Mass definitely made me obey speed limits or at least stay within 5mph, haha.
