its not going to blow your motor up or anything if thats what your thinking. I'm not 100% sure what those are made out of, but i would attempt to weld a rod to it and pull it back out.

its probably aluminum.

2 choices:
1. Weld a rod to it in several spots and yank it out-a slide hammer would work really well here
2. Try to push something inside it push it out, might have to use some heat to soften the metal a bit.

made of steel. has rust here and there. yah i was going weld something to it and pull but until i get around to it just wondering if it is going to cause worse problems.

cut it in half between the dents and knock the dents out slowly and lightly from the inside. Metal that has been through that many heat cycles starts to act a little strange. DO NOT knock the middle of the dent out first, tap around the edges slowly with boy hammers or a slap file until it lightens up otherwise your going to stress the metal. When done just weld it back together.

If its steel then feel free to pound the crap out of it imho.

Cap one end fill with water cap the other end and put it in the freezer for a few day should pop the dent out. That what i did to my banshee pipes.

i heard of that but thought it was bs. when i was in collision repair at collage we had this gun that welds 2in rods to dents and then pull them out...might just stop by there and try that since there is no need to take the pipe off.

cap off stinger end then plug inlet end with a cap with an air valve. apply air pressure and heat dented area with a torch and it will pop out.

its in no way aluminum. its steel. some of them are 16 or 18 guage. if it does anything it might hurt the power a hair. you probably wont even notice it. just check all the mounts to see if the impact broke a mount or something. but as for the pipe, you can send it out to get fixed but unless you care what it looks like then just leave it and ride it.

since no one thinks it'll hurt the motor i'll just leave it:)

It won't hurt anything, but the expansion chamber of a 2-stroke pipe is what creates the powerband. It will probably affect the power delivery, but I don't know if you'll be able to tell the difference. If I were going to try to get the dent out myself, I think I'd try the freezing idea. If water freezing will crack an engine block, it will push a dent out. If that doesn't work, look in the back of Dirt Rider or any of the other bike magazines. There are several shops that specialize in pipe dent repair. They probably fill it with water, freeze it, and charge you $80. :bandit:

What do you guys used to seal these pipes when you freeze them?

Plastic bag with a rubberband?:p I've never done it before but I was going to recommend it. Heard it works well. You'll loose a little power from the dent looking at the size of it. Might be just me though.

I've used a rubber plug or a cork before.
