Will a CRF450 carb fit on a 06+trx450r?

Long story short, i messed my carb up at Ballance this weekend and my buddy has a CRF450 carb that he was gonna put on his 05 TRX but never did. Will the CRF carb fit on my 08 TRX without any mods and work fine?

Okay i put the CRF carb on, it seems to work but everytime i rev it backfires so im going to work with the jetting. I had a 175 main in my stock 08 carb so i put it in the crf carb and it seems like i need a different size main now. Will the crf carb hurt my power?

It shouldn't mess with your power. In 06 honda bassically dropped the CRF 450 engine into the TRX instead of trying to make a quad friendly engine like they did in 04 and 05. So I would bet if his CRF was 06 or newer you will be fine. You can measure the bore size with callipers or a tape measure just for a gut check.

Yea i know all about the engine differences, thats why i thought it would work fine but i wanted to double check. Im having trouble getting it dialed in....every time i rev it backfires and pops. My trx carb had a 175 main jet in it so i put that in the crf carb but im still getting the abnormal idle speed and the popping and backfiring. Should i try something smaller like a 165? I tried a 180 today but no change
