After seaching thru literally 28 pages of discussion related to running a CR ignition, I still have a question.

The 1998 CR ignition is analog. It also my have a different curve than the 2001 model year.

I understand that most everyone will say the '98 setup is inferior. Has anyone ever ran a '98 system and then switched to the 2001 setup? Any difference performance wise?

I have a '98 setup, and it might just go in my motor in the next few weeks. I will also give Arlan a call next week and get his opinion.

If you've already got the '98 setup I'd say give it a shot. I use the '00 cr ignition (digital like the '01 but slightly different curve) and have been very pleased.

I do have the '98 ignition already. I bought it from someone on this board, just can't remember who? I need to order the adapter plate yet tho....

Once you get the adapter plate you'll be all set even if you decide to go with one of the newer digital setups (same adapter plate).
