They look like a lot of fun. There used to be a bunch of guys around here that ran them on a local lake. Ya have to be good with a fishing rod with a big weight or have a canoe if they run out of gas or break down in the water.

thats awesome, what scale is that?

JForestZ34
04-17-2010, 07:31 PM
It's 1/5th scale.. Weighs about 25lbs and goes about 40mph.. If this thing hit your leg no doubt it would break your ankle... A little expensive but well worth it for the fun... You can look on youtube for them in action. Just type in baja 5T and a load of them will come up..

Also these boats are badass.. I had a 46" deep V boat from prather products and it had a homelite 26cc in that badboy.. They are great fun if you have a lake or pond near you..

Just like with my truck, I could show up somewhere and there would be no one for miles.. You fire one of these up and 10 secs later you have a crowd already.. I always get someone asking me if they can try it out.. NO WAY....

I have a traxxas t-maxx 3.3 truck. I'm not much into them anymore because mine broke down alot and they weren't very reliable. so now it's just collecting dust!

that little guy looked little until you put that bottle next to it! I really thought that it was like a foot long and like 4 or 5 inches tall.

I dont have any pics of them but i have a 2.5 t-maxx, and a rc-10 that i mess with every now and again. lol. The maxx is a ton of fun with the 4x4 and 40mph. I have a traxxas tuned exhaust on it, with some big joe 40s on it now. I also have hd steering servos, and some knobbies that are 40 series too. I have it set up for racing on a small local track but it got closed down a few years ago. Since then i really dont do too much with them. lol. great toys and money pits too. steve

This is an MT2 converted to a flux brushless system running 4500nimh batteries and 8.4v. I took a scrap bit of aluminum and made the mount and the guard for snow and water. The pinion is a stock size but the inside diameter was cut for a different shaft so a friend filled it with steel and machined it out custom to fit the flat spot for the lock screw. The whole thing runs almost 60mph and has the 4wd for the rough stuff. I took the collars for the springs and took the OEM springs and cut they to act as a dual rate system to compensate for the extra weight. I hope you can tell in the pictures but I was pretty impressed with the overall project result. Enjoy

There is some alloy parts here and there in the hubs and knuckles because the plastics failed against the jumps. The alloy is great durability.

I was really into "toy" R/Cs a few years ago - you guys probably remember Xmods from Radioshack, I probably still have $500 + worth of that crap.

Anyways, now that I am almost finished buying parts for the LTR (about another $300 to go), I figured now I may be able to get back in the hobby, as something to do when I can't ride (which is often as I don't live on my farm and it is 30 - 60 minutes away from home, and the cottage even further).

I'm hoping to sell all my Xmods for $200 or so (maybe $300 if I get lucky) and that money towards getting an HPI Savage.

Or you could start going into the third dimension of reality and get a Blade mcx micro heli for under $200.

Unless you are one of those people that can`t handle airtime. Its nothing to be ashamed of , most of people cant think 3dimmensionaly and work their fingers at the same time.

^ Yeah haha. I have almost all the cars lol... plus multiples of all of the accessory kits haha. The problem with them is there isn't really anywhere to use them haha, if you take them outside they sucked, got stuck every inch, inside well it just gets boring after a while lol.

my friends that went to a diffrent elementry school than me had a x-mod rc club after school. they would have races with them in one of the class rooms and they told me they would set up diffrent courses all the time. sounded realy cool. and i wish my school did that:(
and because of this thread i am fixing my t-maxx now. it has been sitting for 5 months or more now lol

^ Haha now THAT would have been awesome. I think I got 2 of my friends to get an Xmod... but neither of them lived that close to me so we didn't get to race too often. They were good for getting kid's interest in an R/C that was (relatively) cheap, faster most other toy-store R/Cs, and you could upgrade it and actually do some "work" on it lol.

the stampede was always an intriguing truck to look at modding. Looks like it would be fun to play with. thanks fcr the shots and cool cars everyone! steve
