I just changed out the pads on 06 400ex and now I have no brakes at all. The pedal just completely has no resistance whatsoever. The level of fluid of the reservior on the handles bars is full.

The handlebar rese. is for your front brakes. your rear brake rese. is located on the right side behind the fender. remove your seat and you will see it.

Add fluid if low (it doesnt take much-like 2 tbl spoons or so!)

If still no luck bleed them.

Its either an 8mm or 10mm wrench, you want to use the closed end. Pump the brake pedal 3-4x then hold pressure on it and crack the bleeder screw open slightly. Repeat this process till you have a feeling in the pedal.

Make sure to top off the fluid as you go and to clean the brake fluid you bleed out with a solvent such as mineral spirits or carb cleaner.

Then I would say you need to replace or rebuild the caliper.

it's probably leaking out of the seal where the parking brake is, thats the most common place i've seen leak

I hardly ever use them, just awkward to use imho since your trying to make sure you dont fall off lol.

i only use them when i feel they're needed, like emergency stops. other than that, they're more of a pita than anything

The bike currently has a parking brake block off.

The only time I use my back brakes is when I creep down big hills and lock up the rear tires to slow down.

not supposed to. When I take my PB block off plate off, no fluid comes out. unless I missed what you said. I took my pb block off the other day to polish it back to a shine, and no fluid came out.

As far as back brakes, I use my front and back brakes together when I stop.

What he means is the seal inside the caliper is leaking into the parking brake.

I bought a reman'ed caliper about a month ago and same thing. Felt fine at first but then began to leak out of the seal where my parking brake block off is. Sent it back for another and no issues.
