i looked it up on bikebandits.com and it shows and says that the guide is $30. A HEck of alot cheaper than i expected. but i still need a better picture of where they are located.

The valve guide is in the head. If you have never done one you should take it to a machinist. The head needs to be heated and the old guide needs to be driven out. The new guide gets driven in and then it needs to be reamed to size for your valve stem.

Why do you think it needs a guide?? The only real way to tell is to take the head apart and measure the clearance. If your smoking and burning oil it's probably a valve guide seal or your rings/piston.

well it runs for 20 seconds and shuts off. and when i try to start it it wont start until its cold again and it does the same thing. the shop said it may need a valve guide. this shop was the one who rebuilt the carburetor.

Sounds like it still has a carb problem. It's either running out of fuel or loosing spark.

a worn valve guide would not stop urengine from starting unless it was seized open its almost 100%likly to be ur carborator take it to a small shop that takes there time and doesnt make up things tht are wrong with your engine
