I'll be rebuilding my engine in the near future. looking to get an XR400 cam for it. Is there anything I have to do to the valvetrain with this cam (hardface rockers etc) to maintain reliability?

Your old rockers are gunna be worn with you stock cam. If you have a lot of hours you will need to replace them. Stock replacements should be fine, no need to go with hardened rockers with an xr400 cam.

thats not true, only if you dont take care of your engine. i have an 86 350 engine that i just took apart that the rockers have no show of wear on them. if you let your oil break down b4 you change it, wear will occour. you will only need hardface rockers on cams that say they need them. (the cams that req. them will state either on the webpage or on the cam box or instructions)

Replace the rockers if you have the money, especially if there are a lot of hours on it. Like i said before, you dont need hardened ones, stock rockers will be fine.

Just get a HOTCAM,,, The XR Cam does not increase as much as the HOTCAM....
