fitting shocks

I just bought all around shocks off my friends 450r and im putting them on my ltz400. The two front shocks mounted on fine. Than i measured the rear shocks eye to eye and the 450r shock was 1/2 in shorter than my stock shock.Will this set up work out with the 450r shock?
